Above & Beyond in Helsinki last Friday

Last Friday’s Clinic event with Above & Beyond was one of this year’s trance clubbing highlights in Finland. The expectations were high but Clinic and A&B surely delivered. The event production set up was perhaps the best one I’ve seen in Tivoli and it was also great to see the club sold out soon after the midnight.

I did a 2 1/2 hour warm up before A&B in the main room and enjoyed it a lot. It was tricky though to not go full on (not my style if doing warm up for a clear headliner like this) when the floor was full by 23:00. The likes of Shiloh, Kleinenberg, Michael Woods, Moguai, Pryda and Jerome Isma-ae were moving and grooving the people and I even saw the good old TUNE! signs in the crowd. Above & Beyond delivered a fine set of their trademark trance, starting with the Anjunadeep kinda stuff and moving on soon to full on, new and old Anjuna material soon. Judging by the crowd reactions it seemed to work pretty much perfectly. It’s also nice to see the guys (especially Paavo) so genuinely excited and energetic behind the decks. Their set up includes also visuals that they are controlling. The Helsinki crowd seemed to love the finnish messages written on the screen.

It was also nice to see all of the three rooms more or less rockin’ it with finnish talents like Mr.A, Coma, Zwek and DNA. Below links to some photos and videos from the event:
