Autumn 2010 in one DJs life

Here is an update from my autumn of 2010. I must say that it’s been amazing and super exciting time on many levels: professional, artistic, personal, musical and emotional. Good times for sure:-)

On the gig front the definite highlight was opening for Gareth Emery on his album release event in Leeds, UK in early October. What an honor especially as the man himself contacted me do it. And judging by his great album and watching him do four hour set with live vocalists etc – I think we’ll only see him climbing on THAT list too. A short video from my trip is online in YouTube here:

Other big names I’ve been opening for, playing with and closing after during the past couple months have been Marco V, Mauro Picotto, Juno Reactor, Kelis and Super8 & Tab so it’s definitely been a star filled autumn. From those gigs I have to give honorable mention to Marco V for a super groovy and energetic set and to Super8 & Tab for this year’s trance clubbing highlight in Finland couple weeks ago and congrats for the achievement with their debut album. To ensure looking to the future too I could mention this Friday’s Above & Beyond’s welcome return to Tivoli here in Helsinki. I’ve heard the tickets are selling really well so I’m expecting a night filled with good old full on Anjuna trance. Facebook event here:

At the same location we’re continuing with Super8 & Tab and Orion from where the S8&T album release party left with a tasty looking NYE event. And if trance is not your cup of Red Bull then you can head to the Room 2 of the evening party (with Paul Easy, Milla Lehto and Visions DJs) or come to the morning party at the revamped Playground with myself, Paul Easy, Unik, Flink, Milla Lehto, Visions DJs and Peak. I say SLAP = sounds like a party=)

On the radio front my Radio Unity podcast seems to sit firmly in Finland’s iTunes podcast Top 10. It is also broadcasted in ‘NRJ At The Club’ Saturday show and the live chat with the community in forum is always a nice global meeting of likeminded music lovers. Big props to everybody who makes it there month after month! Here is a link to the podcast in iTunes and a link to all past shows’ tracklists with download links:

On the production front the main bit of news have been my two bootleg remixes of Hans Zimmer’s amazing theme music from the Inception film. They’ve been supported by the likes of Armin, Andy Moor, Solarstone, Alex Morph, Arnej, Ronski Speed and First State. I just recently made the two mixes (progressive and uplifting trance) available as free download in SoundCloud. To download those from SoundCloud click here:

And of course the biggest highlight of them all was getting married and spending fantastic honeymoon in Ibiza in late September/early October. Thanks for reading this far and hope to see you on the dancefloor soon again!
