London calling

Only brits are crazy enough to do boat parties in late October on in London. Last Saturday I played on a small and intimate 240 people Electronic Sessions cruise on Thames. ES are one of London’s most promising up’n’coming organizers with a definite good vibe going on. Thames, The London Eye and Millenium Dome acted as a backdrop for a six hour cuise with two small dancefloors filling almost from the beginning. Crowd was a bit older & stylish yet very relaxed and loaded with a positive party attitude. It was also nice to see quite a few finnish people there.

Rising star from PvD’s Vandit label Jon O’Bir was the headliner with myself playing right before him after a solid prog warm-up from local heroes. I played only an hour with set highlights being crowd singing along to Wippenberg’s ‘Chakalaka’ and Gareth Emery’s remix of ‘Metaverse’. After the party we had an ambitious plan to eat some nice indian food and go to an afterparty but that was downgraded to burger at McDonald’s and one drink at hotel lobby bar. Oh, the glamorous life of a DJ! Greetz and thanks to Ross, James, Matt, Fredi, Nina, Martina, Damian, Lizzie, Jon, Tom and everybody I else I met during the weekend. I’m already looking forward to the AVA party in 2009…
