Italian techno superstar DJ Mauro Picotto makes a welcome return to Finland and Helsinki this Friday. He is most known for his ‘Komodo’ and ‘Lizard’ hardhouse tracks in the late nineties but Picotto is definitely much much more than that…
During the recent years he has been in the forefront of the new 21st century techno movement and is responsible for running one of Ibiza’s biggest (alongside Cocoon) techno nights ‘Meganite’ at Priviledge and Space. Also his music is nowadays more tech house and techno influenced rather than the banging hard dance of ’99. Picotto is also involved in many of electronic dance music’s early megahits as he was involved in italian early commercial techno groups like RAF, 49rs and Cappella.
With finnish support coming from Mr.A, Eliot Ness and Orkidea, venue being perhaps Helsinki’s finest big venues The Circus and presale tickets costing ridiculously cheap 10 euros this one looks like a definite winner! I’ll be playing a special “techno only” set which I’m also very much looking forward to.
