. What a great weekend it was last week! Friday’s event at Joensuu was a positive surprise with a super nice venue and superb PA and lights by the nice Guru people. JS16 was on fire (as always) and Orion warmed up and finished the night in style. Video report coming later today to my video gallery.
. Saturday was a special day to me. It was my first gig at the mighty Gatecrasher at their 4500 people Magna event. Line-up was superb with Ferry Corsten, Judge Jules, Marcus Schulz and Eddie Halliwell headlining. I played two sets: warm-up set at main room and “Orkidea producer set” at classics room. Warming up the main room was a pleasure with hundreds of people running to the dancefloor immediately at 22:00. By 23:00 there were some 1500-2000 people already with lots of hands in the air. I kept it musically quite proggy before Marcus Schulz with highlights of my set being Eric Prydz’ Pjaano, Royal Kinks’ Borrow Time (Michael Cassette remix), the new YearZero remix and Gareth Emery’s remix of my Metaverse track. The production in main room and whole event was superb so mad props to Crasher people (especially Dean) was making everything work so nicely!
.
Classics room was packed at 01:30 with Jules banging old Crasher anthems. It was great to see my own music going down so well after the sttringof all time faves. I played an hour before loval heroes Riley & Durrant stepped in. Highlights of this set were Unity and Aalto’s Rush (Super8 vs Orkidea remix). The room was half outdoors and the temperature of +5C’ gave it a very unique flavour. Everyone just had to rave full on to keep warm I guess! It was also nice to see all the familiar faces from Off The Rails, Digital Society and ADE which gave a nice vibe for the whole night. This was on eof my alltime fave gigs so BIG thanks to everybody who made it possible. Video report coming up soon…
