Turku here we come!

Today is my first gig after the six month break from DJing. Pretty weird feeling as it’s been 16 years since I was this long without playing a gig! Even in ’92 and ’93 we had monthly or bi-monthly raves/clubs/events where I DJed.

Tonight I’m heading to Turku (in Finland) where Choon! club is celebrating it’s 3rd Anniversary. I’m doing the warm-up for Gareth Emery while other artists include a rare live set by club promoter/resident Jussi Soro, club owner/old school Turku scene figure DJ Seb, “the John Digweed of Rauma” DJ Homegrove, up-and-coming house honcho DJ Flight and Choon! promoter Nenna. I’m playing the first 2:45 hours in the main room before Gareth so my set will most likely be more on the progressive house side of things as I know Gaz likes to start with more housey stuff. I’m really looking forward to Gareth’s set as he is alongside Andy Moor one of my definite favourite trance DJs and producers and an overall nice guy too!

Choon! and Klubi have always been nice experiences so with tonight being a birthday event, such a strong line-up, lots of Helsinki posse coming over and Klubi’s great soundsystem I have high hope for today. Let’s see how the beatmatching goes after a while;) If you are taking any photos of the event, please upload them to Flickr with a tag orkidea11102008 and they’ll show up automatically to this gig’s page on my site. I’ll hopefully post a tracklist of my set on my site’s playlists section too.
